What Tier 2 Governs
Tier 2 governs cognition, not action.
It defines:
- How information is processed
- The order in which questions must be answered
- The difference between clarity and conviction
This layer sits between identity and execution.
If Tier 2 is skipped or rushed, Tier 3 becomes reactive.
Core Principle
A structured mind creates structured trades. Meta-8 is not intuition suppression. It is intuition containment.
It gives intuition a frame so it can operate without hijacking behavior.
The Meta-8 Framework
Meta-8 is a sequence of eight questions that must be addressed before action is permitted. They are not a checklist to rush through. They are a thinking order.
The Eight Questions
- Recognition
Does the current market context activate a defined playbook strategy?
- Confirmation
Do structure and order flow validate this idea?
- Exit Logic
Where is this idea wrong, and how will I know?
- Non-Trade Filter
Is this a clear opportunity, or is it noise, chop, or ambiguity?
- Continuation vs Reversal
Does volume, delta, and structure support continuation, or suggest exhaustion?
- Risk Logic
What is the cost of being wrong, and is it acceptable?
- Aggression vs Patience
Do conditions justify pressing, or does restraint preserve edge?
- Invalidations
What specific condition disqualifies this trade idea?
If any question cannot be answered clearly, alignment fails.
Two Operating Modes
Meta-8 is used in two distinct modes.
V1: Strategic Integrity (Preparation and Review)
Used before the session and during post-session review.
Purpose:
- Define context and narrative
- Build a non-biased thesis
- Pre-map risk and disqualifiers
Output:
A clear, written Non-Biased Thesis.
V2: Real-Time Navigation (In-Flow)
Used during live execution and replay.
Purpose:
- Prevent step-skipping under speed
- Anchor interpretation to structure and flow
- Decide whether to act or stand down
Output:
A binary answer: alignment or no trade.
What Meta-8 Prevents
Meta-8 exists to prevent:
- Acting on partial information
- Confusing movement with opportunity
- Filling uncertainty with conviction
- Justifying trades after the fact
Clarity must precede action.
Relationship to Other Tiers
- Tier 1 defines who is allowed to trade
- Tier 2 defines what ideas are valid.
- Tier 3 decides whether action is permitted
Tier 2 sits between identity and execution. Its role is to structure perception so that only qualified ideas reach the decision layer. It does not authorize action.
If Tier 2 is skipped or rushed, execution becomes reactive even if rules are followed.
