7.2 The Review Stack (Three Lanes)

When I review my trading, I don’t look at everything at once. That’s how noise creeps in. Instead, I move through three distinct lanes, each with its own purpose. Together, they keep review clear, honest, and useful.
The first lane is trade data.
This is the factual record. What I traded, where I entered and exited, what setup I was executing, and what state I was in while doing it. Tags, screenshots, and short notes live here. This lane answers the question: What actually happened at the execution level? Nothing more is asked of it.
The second lane is the session narrative.
Here I step back and look at the day as a whole. The morning thesis, how the market developed, how my trades fit into that context, and where the day surprised me. This lane is not a replay of individual trades. It is the story of the session. It answers: What kind of day was this, and how did I engage with it?
The third lane is integration.
This is where meaning is distilled. Patterns that repeat, behaviors that stand out, and lessons that deserve to persist beyond today are captured here. This lane is intentionally sparse. Not everything earns a place. It answers: What is worth carrying forward?
Keeping these lanes separate prevents confusion. Trade data stays precise. The session narrative stays coherent. Integration stays light and durable. When these lanes blur together, review becomes exhausting. When they stay distinct, review becomes grounding.
