A field manual for maintaining agency under pressure
❓ Why Stop 0 Exists
Most people don’t fail at trading because they lack intelligence, information, or effort. They fail because, at critical moments, their actions are not actually under their control. Decisions feel deliberate, but occur too late. Discipline is valued, but unreliable. Insight is present, but inaccessible when pressure arrives.
This section exists because none of that can be fixed at the level of strategy.
Before entries, risk models, psychology, or execution, there is a more basic question: where does agency actually live, and when is it available? If that question is not answered first, every downstream improvement is fragile. Intelligence will optimize the wrong thing. Psychology will explain behavior after the fact. Rules will be broken precisely when they matter most.
Stop 0 is not about trading tactics. It is about identifying the conditions under which choice is even possible. It sits before psychology, before identity, and before skill, not to replace them, but to prevent confusion about what they can and cannot do. Once this layer is clear, everything that follows can be built without strain.
