Step 1 — Playbook Type (mandatory)
- Pullback in Strong Trend
- Key Level Rejection (KLR)
- Breakout & Impulse Move Continuation
- Momentum Failure & Absorption
Step 2 — Stop / Target Strategy (mandatory)
3to4L/3to4S(core templates)
- Other variations as defined
(Defines the planned R/R structure.)
Step 3 — Base Result + Psych State
(mandatory — exactly ONE of each)
Base Result
targethit→ target achieved as planned
stop→ stop hit as planned
scratch→ neutral exit (time stop or flat close)
(Binary outcome: did the plan complete, yes or no?)
Psych State
calm→ focused, no emotional interference
hesitant→ doubt or second-guessing affected execution
tilted→ emotional state influenced decisions
💡 Every trade must carry both a Base Result and a Psych State. This records not only what the market did, but what state I was in while executing. Together, they track system edge and operator edge.
Step 3.1 — Trigger States (optional, one max)
These tags capture what triggered the behavior, not just how it felt.Use sparingly but consistently.
Every trade already has a Psych State.
If that state was reactive or misaligned, add one Trigger State.
Trigger States — Emotional / Cognitive Drivers
Tag | Meaning | Internal Cue |
urge_to_reenter | Post-loss compulsion | “I need one back.” |
dopamine_high | Overconfidence after a win | “This is easy.” |
hesitation | Paralysis from prior mistake | “What if I’m wrong again?” |
revenge | Frustration-driven trading | “The market owes me.” |
FOMO | Chasing runaway price | “It’s moving without me.” |
ego_control | Need to be right | “I can’t let this lose.” |
validation_seek | Trading for self-worth | “I need this win.” |
Rules
- Tag only if behavior was meaningfully affected
- One trigger max per trade
- Precision > completeness
Goal: make emotional reactivity measurable and therefore improvable.
Step 4 — Refinement Tags (optional)
(Used only if relevant, on top of base result)
closetoosoon→ exited at target, price extended ≥50% further
heldtoolong→ ignored guardrails, increased loss risk
runner_potential→ structure/flow supported further extension
runner_nopotential→ target was the natural cap
(Refinement tags never override base result.)
Step 5 — Management Add-Ons (optional)
build→ scaled in with same stop/target logic
stopmoved→ violated stop discipline
chickenedout→ exited early, then target hit
earlyentry→ entered before structure confirmed
lateentry→ chased after impulse
Step 6 — Context Filters (optional)
countertrend
fomc
structural_ambiguity
narrativeflip→ session bias shifted meaningfully
Application
- Stop taken while holding old bias →
narrativeflip_loss
- Entry aligned with new bias →
narrativeflip_win
(Used to evaluate adaptability vs bias-lock.)
Core Rules
Every trade must have:
- Playbook Type
- Stop / Target Strategy
- Base Result
- Psych State
Refinements, management, and context tags are optional and used only when relevant. The objective is not description. The objective is clean data.
